Please join us Thursday July 25th, 2013 at 6:30PM for our next monthly meeting.
This month we are honored to have Allison Nash come talk to us. Alison is currently entering her final semester of the Master of Architecture I (Professional) degree at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. The three and a half year program culminates in a thesis project in the final fall semester. Ms. Nash’s thesis project aims to integrate the experience of architecture with encounters of wildness and nature by designing a network of URBAN APIARIES in Los Angeles.
Previous academic experience includes a sustainable design certificate at the Sustainable Design Institute at Boston Architectural College, and dual degrees from Cornell University (BA English, BFA Painting). Prior to graduate school, Ms. Nash’s career included work experience in interior design in New York City, lighting consultation in Boston, MA, and interior and lighting design at a small architecture firm in Ithaca, NY.
Service and leadership roles at Cornell have included representing the field of architecture on the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly, MArch I representative in the Department of Architecture, student representative on the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning’s (AAP) Academic Integrity Board, and the Dean’s Council. Ms. Nash led the design process and construction for AAP’s alumni funded food truck project and has served as a student team leader and advisor for Design Connect, a student-run service-design organization.
